Information. Special Operations Executive was formed in Novemeber 1940 a volunteer fighting force whose mission was sabotage, subversion and espionage behind enemy lines. Properties across the country were requisitioned and used as agent training bases to provide the volunteers with the skills they would need to undertake the dangerous tasks ahead.
