World War 2 Two II WW2 WWII

Salford Royal Hospital was in Manchester.

On the 2nd June 1941, 14 nursing staff were killed in an airraid on Salford Royal Hospital. A monument to the 14 nurses was unveiled by the Duchess of Kent inFebruary 1944 and A public subscription raised a memorial fund of 14,500, which was used to fund new beds for the hospital.

Salford Royal Hospital finally closed in 1993.
