World War 1 One ww1 wwII greatwar great
During the First World War, Ripon Camp was one of the main centres for the organisation of troops being sent to and returning from the Front. The vast army camp had been constructed in 1915 on the western and southern outskirts of the ancient city.
This is a picture of the Accrington Pals on a rifle range near Ripon in 1915. I am quite interested in the location of the range
Amongst my collection of Ripon postcards from the time of WW1 there are these two which detail the conditions for our lads who were staying at Ripon camp.
