The Royal Lincolnshire Regiment raised 19 battalions during the Great War. Over 10,000 of the men lost thier lives. 1st Battalion: were in Portsmouth at the outbreak of the Great War. By September 1914 they were near Mons and saw action in the Battle of Ypres. In November 1918 they were back at Mons. 2nd Battalion: were in Bermuda at the outbreak of the great War. They were recalled and arrived in France in November 1914, they saw action at Neuve Chapelle in March 1915. 4th Battalion 2/4th Battalion 5th Battalion 2/5th Battalion 6th Battalion.
