Information.

The 119th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion was formed in April 1943 at Camp Hahn, Riverside, CA. USA The battalion consisted of a Headquarters' battery, and four gun batteries each having four 90 mm anti-aircraft guns. On the 31St March 1944 after intensive training, the Battalion left New York aboard the British ocean liner the S.S. Mauritania, crossing the Atlantic without a convoy. They arrived in Liverpool, England, on The 8th of April.

The 119th crossed the English Channel arriving at Utah Beach in Normandy without incident on 8th July 1944, thirty-two days after D-day. They were assigned to Patton's Third Army as an anti-aircraft and field artillery battalion. Through out the next eleven months, the battalion saw active service in France, Belgium, and Germany, being part of five major campaigns; Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe.

In May 1945 at the war's end, they were in the vicinity of Munich, Germany. The battalion was then moved back to Metz, France. They returned to the USA in December 1945.
