World War 2 Two II WW2 WWII

Information.

No. 354 Squadron was formed at Drigh Road near Karachi on 10 May 1943 flying Liberators in a Reconnaissance role from August. On 22 September 1943, 354 Squadron began anti-submarine operations and later undertook shipping attacks. No. 354 Squadron was disbanded on the 18th of May 1945.

Airfields at which No. 354 Squadron were based:

  • Drigh Road
  • Cuttack

I have just started digging into my fathers mementoes, logbooks, photos, etc. My father was Aus. Flt/Lt C.W. Marshall, he enlisted in the RAAF in Sydney then trained in Canada before going to (among other postings) 354 Squadron in Burma. He was in the crew (which survived the crash-on-takeoff) of BZ863 'R' at Cuttack on 5/10/43, and then flew mostly in 'V' as part of the G. Munday crew which he had trained with in Canada.
