Information. The 16th Battalion of The Durham Light Infantry, was formed in 1940. Part of 139 Brigade of the 46th Infantry Division, they saw action at Sedjenane I, E1 Kourzia, Salerno, Volturno Crossing, Teano, Monte Camino, Monte Tuga, Gothic Line, Gemmano, Cesena, Cosina Canal, Athens Greece.
