Information.

SOE Base. Milton Ernest Hall in Bedfordshire was built in the 19th century, on the site of another hall dating back to the 1600`s. During the First World War the hall was home to the two sons of King George V and Queen Mary.

During the Second World War Milton Hall was used as a base for Special Operations Executive, a small grass landing strip being laid in the grounds.

In 1944 it became the USAAF Communications HQ

Twinwood airfield was closely associated with the hall.
