World War 2 Two II WW2 WWII

Information.

RAF Attlebridge, situated in Norfolk, opened in 1941, as a satelite to Swanton Morley. It was also known as USAAF Station 120.

The aifield was sold in 1959 to become `the largest turkey farm in the world', the poultry sheds which housed more than 300,000 turkeys, were built on the runways. The control tower became the offices and a modern processing factory was built on the site.

  • No. 88 Squadron. August 1941 to September 1942
  • 319th Bomb Group. September 1942 to November 1942
  • No. 320(Dutch) Squadron. March 1943 to September 1943
  • 466th Bomb Group. March 1944 to July 1945
